These Policies have been developed by the Hamilton Swimming Club for the operation of the Swimming Club. Other
organisations are welcome to make use of these policies, however, we
have arrived at them to suit our own situation. It is strongly
recommended that if you use them, then do so as a guide to develop your
own policies which will suit your situation.

Hamilton Swimming Club: Policy Statement No 5. (14 October 2003)
Uniform
Hamilton
Swimming Club recognises the need for swimmers and officials to wear a
uniform. The wearing of the Club uniform helps to unify the Club
members, helps encourage team spirit, and presents a consistent image
to others at swim meets.

Officials Uniform
All Club officials are encouraged to wear the following to all meets and carnivals;
- white footwear
- white trousers or shorts/skirts,
- white polo shirt with the Club logo on the left breast
- and hat (if one is required).

Competing Swimmers
All swimmers must wear the following while competing at all Club endorsed swim meets;
- Latex or Silicon "Hamilton" swimming cap. (If cap is worn at all)
- Burgundy or black swim togs.

General Uniform
The
Hamilton Swimming Club recognises the need to keep the costs to a
minimum by maintaining a consistent uniform standard which does not
change frequently. This means that uniform articles then have a
resale/reuse value and do not become redundant.
The Club currently has two swimmers uniforms,
- the older style grey and burgundy
- the newer style grey and black
^ TOP ^
This uniform will be slowly phased out, but may be worn for 18 months from the sale of the last of the current stocks.
The older uniform consists of;
- Burgundy and grey shorts
- Burgundy and grey shirts with white "Hamilton" logo
- Burgundy and white track suits
^ TOP ^
This uniform is now in stock and is for sale.
The new/current uniform consists of;
- Black shorts
- Grey shirts with black trim
- Black vests (optional)
- Black togs or Burgundy togs
^ TOP ^
There are two options available to consider when a Club team is travelling to National or International meets.
- Use the existing new uniform with an extra logo associated with the meet. This is the preferred option as it maintains uniform consistency and keeps the overall costs of swimming down
- Buy an extra uniform. This may be an option but it is not recommended because it increases the overall costs of swimming.
Travelling
uniforms, whether a "Waikato" or some other, that ARE NOT part of the
approved uniform list and MAY NOT be worn as uniform.

While
we recognise that it may become necessary to change the uniform from
time to time, pressure to do so should be resisted. Unless the uniform
subcommittee can show a very good reason for the change and that the
proposed new uniform can be mixed and matched with the existing uniform.
