These Policies have been developed by the Hamilton Swimming Club for the operation of the Swimming Club. Other organisations are welcome to make use of these policies, however, we have arrived at them to suit our own situation. It is strongly recommended that if you use them, then do so as a guide to develop your own policies which will suit your situation.

Hamilton Swimming Club: Policy Statement No 2. (14th October 2003)

Learn2Swim

Introduction

Founded in 1889/1890, Hamilton Swimming Club is a family focused club that aims to provide affordable swimming activities. We also lease, maintain and operate as a community facility, the City's historic Municipal Pools.

Learn2Swim is a community service. We follow the five-level SwimSafe programme. All our voluntary instructors are fully SwimSafe trained; many have undertaken additional specialist courses.

Tuition Fees

Our low fees reflect our commitment to keep swimming as affordable as possible. Fees are heavily subsidised by fundraising and sweat equity through our volunteers and by our management of the Municipal Pools.
Our Summer Fees are;
Learn2swim Level 1 to 5 (½ hr session / week for 7 weeks) $50
Seals (2 x ½ hr sessions / week for 10 weeks) $70
Penguins  (2 x ¾hr sessions / week for 10 Weeks) $80

The fee entitles participants to a free assessment, the opportunity to participate in club nights and free access to the pools during public hours.

Instructors remuneration

Instructors receive remuneration according to qualifications for each session, once they have completed 20 hours of the Lotto Swim Safety Instructors course.

Relationship between Club membership and Learn2Swimm Participation

Learn2Swim participants are not members of the club. However we do encourage children to participate in our fortnightly club nights. There is no additional charge for this.
